Who writes them
Kyoya Fujioka (藤岡 京也) founded CofJC in 2010 and is its representative director. He writes and edits every site listed above.
He was born in Hyogo Prefecture and studied law at Kwansei Gakuin University. He has worked in e-commerce and search marketing for about 15 years, and has published eight books in Japanese on how small businesses can be found on Google Maps.
He works between Kyoto and Osaka.

How the guides are made
Crowd levels and wait times on our sites are our own estimates. They are not official counts and they do not come from the places themselves. We work them out from typical visiting patterns by hour, weekday and season, and adjust for the current weather, which we take from the Japan Meteorological Agency. Each site has a page that explains its method, for example how Fushimi Inari Today estimates crowds.
Opening hours, prices and train fares are checked against the operators’ own published information. Every page shows the date it was last updated, and we change that date only when the content has changed.
We use AI tools to help build the sites and to draft some pages. The crowd estimates are calculated automatically. A person reads and checks each page before it is published.
How the sites earn money
Bag2Gate is our own paid service, and our guides link to it where luggage is relevant. We say so next to the link.
Some pages contain affiliate links to ticket and tour sellers. If you book through one, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. Nobody pays us to be included in a guide, and the places we cover have no say in what we write.
Corrections
If something on one of our sites is wrong or out of date, please tell us through the contact page of that site, for example Fushimi Inari Today’s contact page. We read every message and fix confirmed errors.
